Last week saw the launch of The Event Professionals Handbook, a series of essays and insights from some of the event industry’s most innovative thinkers – and me!
The launch event took place at the Incredible OXO2 on the banks on the Thames and I was fortunate enough to be asked to deliver a short presentation on engagement to the guests. A room full of, you guessed it, event professionals, alongside many of the books contributing authors. I’m please to say they were a very receptive crowd and already a number of interesting opportunities have come my way. Despite the picture of me above I was VERY HAPPY to be part of this project! (I have not been blessed with a naturally happy face).
There are 18 chapters in all, covering a wide range of topics related to the event industry. My own chapter, entitled The Art of Engagement, relates my experiences as a street performer to the world of live events and audience engagement.
The book reached #1 position on Amazon in 6 countries on it’s first day and was the #1 free book in the Business & Finance section in the UK. If you would like to get your hands on the free Kindle version click on the link below or alternatively I have a few physical copies available for free if you get in touch, (UK only).
If you would like me to speak at your next event or would like me to talk to your team about what it takes to be more engaging and why it’s so important please do get in touch.
All of these opportunities have arisen from the launch of my new business Unconventional Speakers. Over the next few months I hope to share more stories related to growing my speaking career both on this site and on the Unconventional Speaker website.
